Originally, I had the post headings flush with the center column. I liked it that way, and then during one of the five times I adjusted the column widths, I accidentally left too much padding on those headings. Once I saw it, I thought it to be a good way to make the headings stand out more. But now, I don’t know if I like it. What do you think?
post headings: inside or out?

I vote for inside – the outside style feels like it was a mistake (which apparently, it was ;^)

I personally like the outside because it’s original and unique to your site—and I’m all about that.

The part that bothers me the most is the fact that it wasn’t planned. I like to think that all pieces of any design I do, as intentional. So I’ve decided to change it back to the original, planned design. I think it’s much cleaner, anyway.

Inside for me, it looks better with multiple posts, but perhaps have them outside for a single post for emphasis?
